Beijing's 798 Art Zone
by Dave Beard

798 Art Zone or Dashanzi
Art District, is a part of Dashanzi in the Chaoyang
District of Beijing
that houses a thriving artistic
community, among 50-year
old decommissioned military factory
buildings of unique architectural
style. The insides of these factories are still coverd in Mauist
Graffitti which oftern rivals the art itself!
Often compared with New York's SoHo. The buildings are located inside a
maze of alleys. Its amazingly refreshing to find yourself strolling in an area
in a city where its almost impossible to walk due to the insane network of
flyovers rivaling any boys hot wheels set. Worth the 10 hour flight alone. This
is what Hoxton should be like!
