Hair Reborn Helping a newly launched charity find their identity

The challenge:

To create an identity for a new hair care cancer charity in its infancy, providing them with the tools to help launch, support and grow.

Our thinking:

Hair Reborn is a brand new charitable idea set up by hairdresser and salon owner Joe Milazzo.

After his wife Lina was diagnosed with cancer and faced a course of chemotherapy, Joe made it his mission to put his professional knowledge into helping ease the emotional stress of Lina’s hair loss.

With what he learned throughout this process, Joe has since offered this service to other local women, making such an impact that Hair Reborn is now acquiring charitable status and rolling out nationwide.

Our challenge was to take this inspirational idea and create an identity that captures the spirit of this complex service, providing tools to help launch, support cancer patients and grow the project.

The logo uses the familiar and trusted charitable ribbon device to create the silhouette of scissors, brought together to communicate the 2 key aspects of the project. Supporting the logo, a bold colour palette and confident illustrative style helps to create the personality of an uplifting and supportive service taking clients away from the clinical world they will be increasingly used to seeing. The strapline was developed to show the caring support the service will offer (it’s not just hair care, it’s caring for hair) whilst driving home the message that this is a service throughout treatment before hair loss has begun.

Brandhouse brought the brand to life across various activations including the crucial leaflet, which would be the main point of communication to clients and which needed to stand out against a sea of other waiting room information. Using the bright brand ribbon helped to call out key messaging including the important message that this service was free of charge.
